Expeditionskonzert mit Joana Mallwitz
Many great artists were disenfranchised, persecuted and murdered during the Third Reich. Compositions by Viktor Ullmann, Gideon Klein, Erwin Schulhoff and many others were intended by the National Socialists to share the fate of their creators and disappear from cultural memory. This was thwarted thanks to courageous rescuers, lucky coincidences and not least the high quality of the rescued works. After many years in obscurity, however, they have not yet been given the status in the concert calendar that they deserve. The members of the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra also draw on their own experiences of persecution and threat in their organisation of this evening of highly listenable chamber music: Their orchestra had to flee from Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine. In August of this year, it found a temporary home in Monheim am Rhein and became part of Monheimer Kulturwerke GmbH.
In cooperation with musica reanimata – Förderverein zur Wiederentdeckung NS-verfolgter Komponisten und ihrer Werke e.V.
