Orgelstunde

mit Martin Haselböck
Martin Haselböck Organ
Johann Sebastian Bach Toccata, Adagio und Fuge C-Dur BWV 564 Arnold Schönberg Variations on a Recitative op. 40 Ernst Krenek „Orga-Nastro“ für Orgel und Tonband op. 212 Franz Liszt Präludium und Fuge über B-A-C-H

The soloist originally titled this program “Modern Classics”, and in addition to Arnold Schönberg's Organ Variations from 1941 as a repertoire standard, a work by Ernst Krenek is also performed, whose complete works for organ at the time were recorded by Martin Haselböck in 1978-80. Two major works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Franz Liszt, also of breathtaking modernity, provide the framework, with Liszt's B-A-C-H Fantasy creating a multiple link to Bach and the 20th century.
