Expeditionskonzert mit Joana Mallwitz
Yubeen Kim studied in Seoul and Lyon with Philippe Bernold and José Daniel Castellon, among others. He is laureate and winner of several international competitions – including the Concours de Genève (2014: 2nd Prize), Prague Spring (2015: 1st prize) and ARD Music Competition (2022: 1st prize). Furthermore, Yubeen Kim devotes himself to extensive concert activities as a soloist and chamber musician.
My first concert with the Konzerthausorchester Berlin that opened the 2016 season, with Iván Fischer conducting Anton Bruckner’s 7th Symphony. With this concert, I passed my probationary period in the orchestra. This beautiful feeling will always accompany me and I will never forget that happiness!
Simply that I can share music with my wonderful colleagues and that we play harmoniously in every respect. And, of course, also that I sit right in the middle of the stage and the orchestra.
I joke around a bit with the other orchestral members or eat a banana if I’m a bit hungry. I’ve heard that the calcium and magnesium in this fruit help to relax the muscles – but actually I eat it mainly because it’s such a handy snack before a concert.
