Christoph Kulicke studied in Berlin at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music with Alexander Koch. He has performed several times at the Konzerthaus with his piano trio. Solo and chamber music performances have taken him to the Berlin Philharmonic, to Potsdam for the Sanssouci Park Festival and to the Magdeburg Telemann Festival, Chorin Monastery and Rheinsberg Palace. Christoph Kulicke was a member of the orchestra board from 2009 to 2021. 

 

Is there an instrument other than your own that you would like to master?

The Brazilian cavaquinho.

Which composer particularly inspires you?

Igor Stravinsky. The greatest possible emotionality, achieved through incredible timbres in combination with clarity in structure and rhythm – simply fascinating.

Is there a musical or humanistic personality who has made a deep impression on you?

Georg Christoph Lichtenberg. What he was able to express in one sentence, others are not able to do on several pages.

Which CD, book or object would you take to a desert island?

Maurice Ravel: Sonatina in A Major for Piano, played by Hélène Boschi. Voltaire: Candide. A multi-purpose jungle knife.
